Warri Urhobo members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have held a crucial unity meeting bringing together stakeholders from both the legacy APC and former PDP blocs, now united under the APC umbrella.
The gathering was convened to consolidate internal unity and strengthen the political voice of the Warri Urhobo bloc within Warri South Local Government Area and beyond was held at Peggy Hotel, Warri.
At the well-attended meeting, the group adopted an eight-man Leadership Council, with Olorogun Bernard Okumagba elected as Chairman and Leader, and Chief Isreal Abido as Vice Chairman and Deputy Leader. Other members of the Council include; Hon. Benson Obire, Rev. David Otofia, Chief Vincent Okudolor, Chief Victor Okumagba, Chief Mark Ikpuri, and Hon. Matthew Opuoru.
The unity meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Warri Urhobo APC members to the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, describing both leaders as champions of democratic progress and good governance.
Attendees emphasized the importance of collective action in safeguarding the political and socio-economic interests of the Warri Urhobo people.
Participants resolved to work in unity to protect and promote Warri Urhobo interests across all tiers of government and party structures. They pledged to ensure that their people receive fair representation and benefits at the Warri South Local Government level, Delta South Senatorial District, Delta State, and the national level. The group also vowed to advocate for equitable inclusion in upcoming Party congresses and political appointments.
The meeting recorded a large turnout of prominent leaders and grassroots mobilizers including Chief Peter Agiri, Chief Coach Obire, Chief Westham Adehor, Hon. Gabriel Okandeji, Chief Femi Okumagba, Hon. Obrutche Obodo, Chief Bernard Kpesu, Chief Ann Gagiyovwe, Mr. Ejiro Okumagba and many others, reaffirming the renewed unity among Warri Urhobo APC stakeholders.
With the formation of the Leadership Council and the firm declarations made at the meeting, the Warri Urhobo APC has repositioned itself as a united and strategic political force poised to play a more influential role in shaping the future of Warri South and Delta State politics.
