Pray to the Father for effectual prayer. But pray through Jesus Christ. For this was the way Jesus always wanted us to pray. Teaching the disciples how to pray, Jesus said, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name, He will give you. “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” Jesus was making the disciples realise that he is a mediator between us and God. Jesus, Himself always looked into heaven to ask from the Father while always giving thanks. Jesus has never asked the disciples to pray to Him. Although we can venerate and appreciate Jesus but when it comes to asking, we must ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. As you do so, may your prayers be answered in Jesus’ name. Amen. Shalom.
