Tinubu: Reforms Working, Nigeria now Accorded Respect Globally

Date:

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said Nigeria’s standing in the comity of nations has risen, following his administration’s economic reforms.

He noted that the various reforms his administration started just two years ago have stabilised the economy and restored confidence at home and abroad.

The President said this while hosting the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Oladunni Olaoye, Orumogege III, and other royal fathers from the area at the State House in Abuja.

President Tinubu said two years of difficult but necessary decisions have yielded results.

According to him, years of neglect, fake records, smuggling, and corruption had weakened the nation’s economic foundations.

We had to take those actions,” President Tinubu said. “With your prayers, patience, perseverance, and great understanding, I’m glad to tell you today that the economy is stabilised. The bleeding has stopped. Hemorrhage is gone; the patient is alive.”

The President highlighted the creation of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the landmark policies to ensure that no student drops out of school due to the inability to pay their school fees.

“Everybody has a right to education, as it is the greatest weapon against poverty,” he said.

President Tinubu recalled that his administration had pressed ahead with investments in infrastructure despite initial challenges.
