Air Peace Crew Rubbishes Investigation Report, says It Is A Smear Campaign

Maduneme Victory, an Air Peace cabin crew member, has questioned the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) over why it did not immediately inform her airline about the alleged traces of marijuana found in her system.
In an interview with Arise News Television on Friday, she emphasized that Air Peace, her employer, should have been notified promptly by the NSIB. According to her, this would have prevented her from continuing flights during the investigation. She alleged that the bureau only informed the airline two months later, which she described as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of Air Peace.
She said: “There is a question I need to ask the NSIB. If Marijuana was found in my system, were they not supposed to tell this to my airline and they are supposed to stop me from flying, because I am risk to the passengers on board and my licenses would have been taken away from me. They didn’t inform them of this until after two months.”
Victory further claimed that the NSIB falsely reported that she tested positive for hard drugs such as marijuana. She explained that while the initial test result surprisingly indicated traces of marijuana in her system, a confirmatory test later cleared her completely, thereby invalidating the NSIB’s earlier report.
Her words: “When I went to meet the doctor, he told me that marijuana usually stays in the system for 90 days. He said if I had something like this, he is advising me to go and come back later when I feel like everything has cleared from my system. I said no, if I go and come back later, it actually proves that I have this thing in my system. I said I want to do the test and the test was done to me and everything came out negative.”
