RHWDP is a Federal Government Project — Not Any Aspirant’s Initiative

Date:

A popular political group known as Alubarika Movement in Osun State has clarified that the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme is the initiative of Mr President and not any aspirants initiative as it is being made to look in the State.

A statement issued by the group reads, “the attention of the ALUBARIKA Movement has been drawn to misleading claims in some quarters suggesting that the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (#RHWDP) recently announced by the Federal Government belongs to a particular aspirant. We wish to categorically state that this is false and misleading.

The #RHWDP is a federal government initiative personally endorsed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 150th National Economic Council (NEC) meeting held at the State House, Abuja. It is designed to accelerate grassroots development across Nigeria’s 8,809 wards by empowering artisans, youths, women, and small business owners through structured support.

The programme is anchored on:

  • Direct intervention at the ward level with 1,000 beneficiaries in smaller wards and 2,000 in larger ones.
  • A National Steering Committee and the Ministry of Budget & Economic Planning serving as the programme’s secretariat.
  • Focus areas such as poverty alleviation, food security, rural electrification, agricultural mechanisation, infrastructure renewal, and economic stimulation.

This initiative is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to build a $1 trillion economy by 2030, strengthen food security, expand school feeding programmes, and create sustainable livelihoods for millions of Nigerians.

It is important to stress that the #RHWDP is not tied to the ambition of any aspirant at the state or local government level. It is a national policy programme rooted in the 1999 Constitution and the Fifth Alteration Act, with implementation oversight by federal and state governments.

We therefore call on all Osun citizens—particularly artisans, women, and youths—to take advantage of this laudable programme by submitting their details at their respective wards as directed. This is an opportunity for empowerment, growth, and development that belongs to all Nigerians, not to any single politician.

The ALUBARIKA Movement commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this bold initiative and urges our people to ignore distractions and misinformation. The #RHWDP belongs to the federal government and ultimately to the Nigerian people.
