Senator Fasuyi Donates ₦10 Million to NULGE, Tasks Leaders on Youth Reorientation and Community Growth

Date:

Senator Cyril Fasuyi (Ekiti North) has reinforced his commitment to grassroots development by donating a total of ₦10 million to the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in his senatorial district, with a firm charge to its leaders to prioritize community development and the reorientation of youths.

The generous donation—₦10 million allocated for projects across the five local government NULGE branches and an additional ₦1 million for transport for attendees—was announced during a strategic and cordial meeting with the union’s leadership.

Senator Fasuyi used the platform to directly address the NULGE executives, whom he described as key community influencers and parents. He urged them to actively guide students in tertiary institutions to focus diligently on their education and resist being exploited as political pawns.
“As parents and leaders at the community level, you have a crucial role to play in shaping the next generation,” Senator Fasuyi stated. “We must ensure our young people remain focused on their studies and not allow themselves to be distracted or used for political purposes.”

The Senator also detailed his forthcoming empowerment and student support programmes designed to benefit constituents across Ekiti North.

In their response, the NULGE leadership expressed profound gratitude for Senator Fasuyi’s consistent accessibility and generosity, praising him as a model of servant leadership. They affirmed the Yoruba proverb, “Isunmoni la n mose eni” (Closeness deepens our understanding of one another), commending his genuine focus on grassroots welfare

The leaders concluded by pledging their unwavering support for Ekiti State’s BAO Administration and its people-centred governance agenda, promising robust collaboration with the Senator for the continued progress of Ekiti North Senatorial District and Ekiti State.
