Ladies and gentlemen, the countdown to 18 November 2025 has begun. That I’ll turn 60 on that day is no longer news to anyone who is close to me.
The celebration actually starts today, Saturday, 15 November 2025. My not-for-profit organization, ROO Aponmade Foundation, has concluded plans to conduct today a free medical outreach at Apatere Town in Lagelu LGA, Oyo State. 100 patients are expected to be touched through diagnosis, lab tests and treatment. They plan to have a similar exercise in Aponmode Town on Sunday 16 November 2025, where the same number of patients are expected to be impacted. The two programmes are to be live streamed on the Foundation’s Facebook page. They are non-partisan and non-religious.
These pre-birthday events again sum up what my life is: a product of the contributions of so many people. My dear friends, Dr. Yinka Akande and Pastor Amoo helped me to put together two amazing teams of medical volunteers who are carrying the love of God to the respective peoples of Apatere and Aponmode today and tomorrow. I am grateful to you, brothers, for your immense love.
The Apatere’s team is led by Dr. Ikor. He will be assisted by Nurses Soyinka and Aboyewa. Mr. Rufus Jiyah is in charge of the pharmacy while Miss Lolade is the Lab Technician. Mr. Omachonu Anthony and Miss Jumoke are also in the team.
For the medical outreach in Aponmode, Dr. Dike is the head of the team. The rest members of the team are: Nurse Dada Elizabeth, Nurse Timilehin, Mary (Lab Technician), Rachael (Pharmacy), Mr. Omachonu Anthony and Mr. Benson.
Drs. Ikoh and Dike, and your wonderful team members, I deeply appreciate your incredible work.
In Apatere Town, Pastor Jacob Olayinka Akande of First Baptist Church, Apatere has been such a wonderful Coordinator. As soon as Elder Joseph Olatunde, my dear brother, gave him the charge, Pastor Akande took it ‘personal’, working round the clock to ensure that the programme is hitch-free. He assembled a team of two other great ministers of the Gospel, Captain Funke Ruth Samson of The Salvation Army, Apatere Corps and Pastor Oluwatunmise Faremi of Christ the Head Miracle Church, Apatere to handle the outreach. They have laboured very much on this event, without an expectation of any earthly reward. I pray that their Master will reward them and He will do so abundantly.
Moruf Olasanjo Aponmade is my kid brother. He went as far as taking his annual leave to be able to devote sufficient time to planning the outreach in Aponmode Town. He was assisted by his immediate younger brother, Hon. Mohammed Olamide Aponmade. Olori gbogbo wa, the Olu of Aponmode Town himself, Chief Dauda Aponmade, was coordinating the planning from the background. They all made me happy and proud that I come from such a loving family. Thank you, my dear brothers, for all your help.
Finally, to Him, the Almighty King, who made all these possible, we give thanks. These medical outreach programmes are themselves offerings of thanksgiving to You. May they be acceptable unto You, our great God and may Your people receive healing in Jesus name. Amen
