US Delivers Military Supplies To Nigeria To Counter Insecurity

Date:

The United States Africa Command has said the U. S. forces has delivered critical military supplies to Nigeria in support of the country’s ongoing security operations.

In a post on X on Tuesday, AFRICOM said U.S. forces delivered the supplies to Nigerian partners as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral security cooperation.

“U.S. forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja. This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasises our shared security partnership,” the command wrote, tagging the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, @USinNigeria.

The development comes amid Nigeria’s continued military operations against insurgent groups, banditry and other security threats across different parts of the country.

While details of the equipment were not disclosed, the delivery highlights ongoing defence collaboration between the U. S and Nigeria, which includes training, logistics and intelligence support aimed at boosting Nigeria’s counterterrorism and stability operations.

The U.S. Africa Command is a unified combatant command of the U.S. Department of Defence, responsible for U.S. military operations, security cooperation, and promoting stability across Africa (excluding Egypt).
