You Will See Greater Things

Date:

When Jesus saw Nathaniel approaching, He said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no guile.” By His supernatural knowledge, Jesus saw the guilelessness of Nathaniel. This is a good quality for discipleship. Being without a guile does not mean Nathaniel was sinless. It simply means someone who harbours no room for deception but one who lays himself bare before God. One who will, so to speak, say it as it is. Because Nathaniel had no pretensions, he saw Jesus as ‘son of God’ and the ‘King of Israel.” This quality immediately earned him an accolade and a promise from Jesus, as He told him, ‘You will see greater things, you will see the heavens open.” Do you still have the disposition to deceive God and man about who you are? This, definitely, will not help you to see Jesus. May you do away with pretensions and lay hold on the truthfulness of God. May you also see greater things and see the heavens open in Jesus’ name. Amen. Shalom.
