The APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, has reiterated his commitment to serving and delivering transformative governance to Osun State if elected as Governor.
Senator Basiru made this statement at the Alubarika Movement stakeholders meeting held in Osogbo, Osun State.
Addressing the gathering with heartfelt appreciation, Basiru acknowledged the relentless efforts of stakeholders and the management team in mobilising support across Osun State. He reassured them of his unwavering commitment to transformative governance if elected as governor.
He also took the opportunity to dispel rumours surrounding his political intentions. “Let me put the record straight once and for all,” he said firmly, “I am contesting in the 2026 governorship election.”
“There is no need for desperation. I am a party man to the core, and whoever the party chooses is acceptable to me. What matters now is for us to stay united and continue the great work we are doing to elevate our party in the state to an enviable position.”
In their goodwill messages, stakeholders pledged their unwavering loyalty to Dr. Basiru, vowing to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure a resounding victory for our party in the 2026 governorship election, as well as for President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Present at the meeting were the newly appointed Director of Administration at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat, Barrister Ayoola Peter Olajolo; Chairman of the Alubarika Movement, Alhaji Kehinde Olamolu; Rt. Hon. Akintunde Adegboye; and other members of the management team.
