Edo Gov Dismisses EdoGIS Boss

Date:

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has dismissed the Managing Director of the Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS), Tony Ikpasajah.

Government sources confirmed that Ikpasajah received an official letter relieving him of his appointment.

According to the sources, the governor was embarrassed after discovering that Ikpasajah had allegedly misled him into revoking the statutory Rights of Occupancy of Presco Oil in Ologbo, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.

In a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, said Ikpasajah acted unilaterally and without authorisation, disregarding established procedures and misrepresenting the actual number of hectares intended for excision from PRESCO PLC landholding.

He added that a formal administrative review has been launched to address the unauthorised actions of the former EDOGIS chief and to strengthen internal controls to prevent future occurrences.
