Arewa Progressive Frontiers tackles Wike Over Attacks on Basiru

‎The Arewa Progressive Frontiers has issued a scathing press statement chiding the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike for his ‘penchant for mischief’ and backing Senator Ajibola Basiru in their recent altercations on party matters.
‎The forum, in a statement signed by Zuhairiyat Mahmud Pitiko, National Secretary, Arewa Progressives Frontiers, posited that the APC National Secretary is on the right track and the Minister should apologise to him.
‎The statement titled: Standing Tall In Defence of Democracy reads: “As patriotic Nigerians,  ardent and unrepentant members of the ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS, we have an obligation and every constitutional right in a constitutional democracy to air out our views and opinions in a matter of national importance, especially when it concerns our party. Posterity will not smile at us if we fail to stand TALL in defence of truth and call a spade, a spade.

‎”Nyesom Wike, a member of the Federal Executive Council under the APC government, cannot and should not come out and lambast a national figure like Dr Ajibola Basiru, an accomplished National Secretary of the APC, in the name of “Rivers State Politics”. Wike does not have a monopoly on rascality. Throwing tantrums and vituperation against Senator Basiru, who is the custodian of our Party Secretariat, is the greatest mistake that will not be tolerated by well-meaning progressives like us. Wike has been bullying, harassing and intimidating his political opponents for a long time. But, on this, he’ll not get away with it.

‎”What exactly is the offence of the National Secretary of APC? Just because he cautioned his NWC member NOT to use derogatory comments against a sitting governor of APC, and it became an issue?

‎”Is Nyesom Wike a member of APC? Why is he crying more than the bereaved?
