With a renewal of commitment by his administration to building a peaceful country where Nigerians can freely worship and pursue their aspirations without fear, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday led governors and others in congratulating Moslems.
He pledged to sustain efforts aimed at securing lives and creating opportunities for all, he assured Nigerians of a peaceful future.
Tinubu said the sacrifices made by Nigerians and the administration over the last three years, were already yielding the expected dividends, including economic stability and investor confidence.
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the president said.
He gave the assurance in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world. He used the occasion to reaffirm his administration’s resolve to deepen investments in sectors critical to national growth and stability.
“My administration remains committed to building a Nigeria where all citizens can live in peace, worship freely, and pursue their dreams without fear,” Tinubu said.
He added that the government would continue to invest in security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development in the fulfillment of the country’s broader development aspirations.
The president urged Muslim faithful to use the sacred period of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for the country, peace in communities and wisdom for leaders.
“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law,” he said.
Tinubu also encouraged Nigerians to remember the less-privileged and strengthen the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
“Let us also reach out to the less privileged, share with our neighbours, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite us as one people,” he stated.
The President congratulated Muslims on witnessing another Eid-el-Kabir, describing the festival as one that embodies the values of faith, obedience and sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
He said the festival remained a powerful reminder of the need for compassion, selflessness and national unity, irrespective of differences in ethnicity, race or religion.
The President noted that the nation remained steady on the path of reconstruction and renewal, insisting that ongoing reforms, though difficult, were necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous future.
According to him, the sacrifices made by Nigerians and the administration over the last three years had begun producing positive outcomes, including greater economic stability and stronger investor confidence.
Tinubu expressed confidence that the reforms would continue to deliver improved security and wider opportunities for Nigerians.
Acknowledging continuing security threats in parts of the country, including attacks by terrorists and bandits, the President said government remained determined to overcome the challenge.
“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.
He wished Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir praying for continued peace, blessings and progress for the nation.
