President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday extended his invitation to local and investors to take advantage of the country’s enormous opportunities.
He said apart from Nigeria’s youthful population and improved
Infrastructure, his administration has strengthened the country’s legal, financial and regulatory frameworks to safeguard investments.
Tinubu added that the unveiling yesterday of the Sales Office and Experience Centre for the multi-billion-dollar Abuja City Walk project in Abuja was another icing on the cake.
He described the project, which is located along the Abuja Airport Expressway corridor, as one of the most ambitious private-sector investments in the country’s history and one that would serve as Nigeria’s gateway to global commerce.
Tinubu, represented at the ceremony by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, added that it is a major milestone in the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda and a clear demonstration of Nigeria’s readiness for business.
He said: “Today, we are not just opening a building; we are unveiling the window to a multi-billion-dollar future. We are presenting a tangible manifestation of our Renewed Hope Agenda, sculpted in concrete, innovation and unwavering determination.
‘’Let me reassure both domestic and international investors: Nigeria is open for business, and your investments are safe. Our legal, physical and financial frameworks are continuously being optimised to protect capital, guarantee returns and eliminate unnecessary administrative bottlenecks.
‘’This experience centre is an invitation to be a part of Nigeria’s future. It is a physical declaration that we possess the courage to conceive big dreams and the discipline to bring them to life.”
According to him, the launch is more than the opening of a new facility because it represents the beginning of a transformative urban development that would reposition the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a global destination for commerce, innovation and modern living.
He recalled that his administration promised economic transformation and infrastructure renewal on assumption of office, adding that the Abuja City Walk project reflects the government’s determination to translate those promises into reality.
Although inspired by Dubai’s City Walk concept, Tinubu said the project had been redesigned to reflect Nigeria’s unique aspirations and development needs.
He stated that sustainable economic growth can only be achieved through strong collaboration between the government and the private sector.
The president stated that granting the corridor Free Trade Zone status would eliminate trade bottlenecks while promoting regional commerce, medical tourism, premium retail businesses and high-end hospitality investments.
He commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for reviving the long-abandoned Abuja Technology Village corridor through decisive reforms and improved land administration.
Tinubu noted that the project, which had remained stagnant for decades, was now witnessing significant progress.
“For over 20 years, the Abuja Technology Village corridor lay dormant. Today, through aggressive land administration reforms and the eradication of bureaucratic inertia, it is being transformed into a bustling construction hub,” Tiubu said.
He added that his administration has ended the era of land speculation and abandoned projects in the nation’s capital.
The President urged the FCT Administration and the project developers, Master International Links, to ensure that the unveiling of the Experience Centre was followed by rapid physical construction.
Beyond luxury residences, hotels and commercial towers, the President said the project would generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs for engineers, artisans, professionals and young Nigerians, while stimulating economic activities across the FCT and neighbouring states.
